You forgot about Bill Odie! This is one of those films where they warn you that it’s so "Frightening" it might cause you to have a heart attack. However, the big difference here is that this one is this one is guaranteed too!
But before the old ticker stops all of your internal organs will try to jump out of your mouth!
I heard about this film from a kid who saw a blurry cam of it, and only got away with an embolism.
I watched it through an elaborate series of mirrors, and one of my eyes still detonated like the Death Star!
And It's got Bagder's in it.

I didn't find it depressing. I think the message was a positive one, why worry about your own problems when life on Earth is so fragile?

no such boneheaded proposition was implied. what is so positive about abject fatalism?
    now, back to von nazi....

"For a long time I thought I was a Jew and I was happy to be a Jew,”

"Then I met [Danish and Jewish director] Susanne Bier and I wasn’t so happy. But then I found out I was actually a Nazi. My family were German. And that also gave me some pleasure. What can I say? I understand Hitler…I sympathize with him a bit."

"I don’t mean I’m in favor of World War II and I’m not against Jews, not even Susanne Bier,”

"In fact I’m very much in favor of them. All Jews. Well, Israel is a pain the a— but…"

"Now can I get out of this sentence? OK. I’m a Nazi,"

"Yes. We Nazis like to do things on a big scale. Maybe I could do 'The Final Solution.'"

Saw The King's Speech finally. Pretty slow at points, but overall very good.

I watched it a few night ago. Pretty good flick...it did drag a bit at times...but that's kinda expected in a movie of that sort.

Yeah, fortunately it had those spaced out moments of humor to keep it rollin'.

Do NOT watch Crank 2 High Voltage. I bought it cheap on DVD (because I'm a Statham fan) and it's (at least) as naff as Crank.
OTOH The Mechanic isn't bad, it also has nods to the original Bronson/ Vincent version.

I was impressed by The Illusionist though. Edward Norton is always worth watching.

Own it. You're right, not as good.

Great movie. Ever seen him in Fight Club?

    Yep.
And Helena Bonham Carter was a bonus in that film.
But Primal Fear is what got me onto Norton. Really nice twist at the end.

Wow..what a difference in roles in the two movies mentioned on this page. From Fight Club's weirdo to playing QE1 in the King's Speech...talk about range.

She was mostly cast in Merchant Ivory-type films as an archetypical English Rose, usually in period pieces (oh so very dainty and genteel 1920s stuff).
And then I saw her in a Rik Mayall comedy series where she played a foul-mouthed (but golden-hearted) stripper. I was shocked. But she did it so well.
I've been a fan ever since.
Plus, of course, the fact that she's Tim Burton's g/f and gets roles in his films.

My plan for this weekend is to watch that, Dancer in the Dark and AntiChrist on a repeat loop until I get so despondent that I die from sheer psychic distress.

That, or I'll just watch the director commentary tracks for every Soderbergh movie back-to-back and go completely insane.

That's disappointing. Anyone with taste would have gone for Charlotte Rampling.

    I'd highly recommend Four Lions.

    Trailer here:

Not that well known, but a fantastic little british comedy, so well written and very funny.
